UTW review of Cedar Rapids

Go here if you want to read my review of the sly comedy Cedar Rapids. I really liked this comedy with a great cast and a wonderful subversive edge to it. Unfortunately, this didn't do much box-office, which is a real shame, but mark my words--it will be much appreciated when people discover it via DVD.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Made be want to be at a goofy Iowa conference! Plus I'm always drawn to things that are set in the middle of America somewhere, I love being there.

It's funny about John C Reilly - you know when he sang Mr Cellophane man in Chicago? I know he's been around before, but I think a lot of people look out for him more since then precisely because he did that performance and ceased being a Mr Cellophane man.

I'm a long-time fan of Reilly's and was lucky to see him and Philip Seymour Hoffman in New York for the play TRUE WEST with tickets on the first row--now that was something special!

I think CEDAR RAPIDS will end up being a cult-favorite in a few years.
