July movies

The documentary binge continues with [eleven] titles in July. There's so many available for streaming via Netflix that it's hard to keep up with the choices. Highlight of the month had to be the Breaking Away screening at Cinefamily with Dennis Christopher talking before and after. I'd forgotten just how much I love that movie!

no way! i think i settled on 'breaking away' for one of my drive-in wish list flicks. rewatched last winter and want to own this film. all the actors were perfect. LOVE it...brilliant, funny, sweet. so cool...how was the Q&A? (bloomington, IN...where Jamie went to college) (i dreamed of going there instead!)

"i don't want any of that INI foods....i want american food...i want french fries!"

Q and A good--lots of little stories about filming, bike riding and how the character and tone of the film was changed on first few days of filming.

tell me about the tone change...

He said it was darker--less sweet than it ended up. The lead character was wearing Euro clothes and had more of an angry edge to him--more like the Dennis Quaid character than what we ended up seeing on the screen.

He was wearing his on-screen Cutters shirt too during the Q and A.
