Slumber Party update

We held the first ever Slumber Party at the Circle over the weekend. We had a complete sell-out and had to turn people away. We actually had 77 people stay all night long to get refunds. I don't know what was more surprising--the amount of people who came or the amount to stay all night long. Everyone seemed to have a blast. The first surprise film, Hausu (House) was the hit of the evening I think. It is just such a deranged, bizarre spectacle that gets only better when watched with a full house in the middle of the night.

Here are a couple of photos--one of the crowd at the start of the night and the other of a group of people who took to the floor with sleeping bags and pillows.

Now thats some programming, good job Josh. From time to time we sell out the theatre. Obviously events like this draw crowds and tap into an audience that craves the obscure. Showing art house films we get smaller crowds than the other theaters south of us. Call me crazed but I dont think a Michael Bay will ever be shown at Circle. Thanks to everyone for showing their support for these types of film/events. It makes it easier to do more and good job taking a chance with this one Josh. The Circle wouldn't be the same with out you.

And you were worried...

Thanks Chuck, that's nice to hear and if the Circle ever shows a Michael Bay film I might burn the place down (just kidding)! Search "Michael Bay" on CineRobot and my thoughts on him should pop up.

Fritschie--I'm always worried when we try something different that a lot of work, planning and effort went into. So happy people came and had a great time.

Heartiest congrats! Although that genre is not my preference for an evening of film, I am so thrilled for you to have had such a successful event!
