I love your writing style and I read your blog all the time, thanks to Prof Bracken. But, Cameron is going to win best director. I think I'll bet my mortgage...

I'd take that bet but for a whole lot less than a mortgage.

I'm not responsible for any sort of wagering losses--although if you want to send a cut of the winnings my way, that's acceptable.

Was that an admission of loss? A little premature, don't you think, Mr. Peck? :)

I was referring to any wagers made between "Anonymous" and "Vern Snackwell"...No lawsuits toward me!

I'm standing firm on my choice for Bigelow--although it's just going to be for bragging rights rather than that "mortgage" bet, ha.

I thought they announced last night that the year Casablanca won there were 10 films....sd

Bullock won!!! You must be stewing...

SD: Yes, Casablanca won in 1943. They had ten films then that were nominated--which I didn't know until recently.

Bungle: Bullock winning is an outrage and a travesty! It might set female acting back a decade and will go down as one of the worst all-time best actress awards. Just think, she wins worst AND best actress in the span of two days. Based on the history of her career--I can take a guess at which one she doesn't deserve.
