Any predictions for #1?
I've already made my list of top 20 living directors so am curious if any of my loyal readers or occasional lurkers expect to find a particular person on the list? I'd even enjoy some predictions for #1!

If you've got Jim Jarmusch at #14, I can't even imagine what you've got for #1.
I was about to cry fowl when I saw the Jonze/Gondry combo, but you make a great point about the Kaufman connection. But you gotta give Jonze some props for tackling Where the Wild Things Are sans-Kaufman.
As for the top ten, I'm drawing a blank. Most of my faves I'd wish were on the list haven't been doing much of real substance over the past ten years or so (Coppola, Ridley Scott, Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam, etc.)
Not to change the subject, but I sent you an email a couple weeks ago about the progress of the cult classic art show. i know what you mean regarding favorites. if i was doing an all-time top 20 it would be way different than this one but some of the favorites aren't cutting it these days.
i'm already kind of questioning this list...i should have spent some more time getting the order right i think as the 20-16 was pretty random...oh well.
